Zuiker also pointed to CSI’s virtual world in Second Life, which crossed over with an episode of CSI: New York. On the show, the character played by Gary Sinise chased a killer from the real world into the virtual, and fans could log on to Second Life and experience the simulation for themselves. Zuiker said they registered 75,000 virtual visitors after the show aired, but also pointed out that it kept going: “The tail was so long that we get 4,000 people a week to this day,” he said.
