Studying Web 2.0
I have been knee deep in virtual worlds, theory and practice over the past 3 years. I have been keeping the pulse of all technologies with a particualr interest in the Web 2.0 stuff going on out there. I use a ton of new webapps including the genre of social conversation (Twitter, Facebook, Jaiku, Pownce), social utilitiy (del.icio.us, ma.gnolia, flickr), broadcast conversation (Wordpress, Tumblr), and pure functional utility (Basecamp, Harvest, LinkedIn). My newest favorite is FriendFeed and I wish everyone would get a FriendFeed account.
However, only recently have I taken a deeper interest in the mechanics that make Web 2.0 tick. Between conversations with Nina, her presentation and participating in Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business Web 2.0 and the Future of Recruiting, the mechanics all started to click. I’m more excited about the web and its potential for meaningful social impact than ever before.
