Stellastarr* - Pulp Song
I caught Stellastarr* at their show on December 5th at Pianos. They sounded good as did the band that opened for them called Wakey Wakey. Pianos is a cool venue. It sounded great but was insanely overpacked. I’m not a huge Stellstarr* fan but I found a new appreciation for them seeing them live. First, I think they sound better live than they do recorded. On top of that, this band is extremely passionate. Singing, screaming, going nuts on stage, they have a passion that is not easily translated to a studio recording. Finally, they have dedicated fans (have sold out 5 shows in NYC this week) who know every word. I like this track, Pulp Song off their first album. For some reason I think these lyrics are clever:
“We’re lying, we’ve lied to you
We’ve lied to make our point of view”
