The New Boxed Set Comes Streaming To Your iPhone for $2.99
Interesting post on TechCrunch about The Presidents of the United States releasing an iphone app that includes all of thier music (streaming) at the price of $2.99. The post equates this to the “new boxed set”, instead of spending $50 on a box set, you spend $3 on a digital version. I don’t quite buy that argument but the app is an interesting model in itself. The Presidents of the United States have a huge advantage in trying out something like this…. they are one of the few commercial rock bands who own the rights to their own music. Dave Dederer, the lead singer of the Presidents is now an executive at NuTsie which is the company behind the application.
