I think a service built around streaming music from the catalog of the major labels is doomed to fail in the foreseeable future. The streaming fees for startups and small companies (including Pandora) are astronomical and even people like Myspace who can negotiate good rates are always at the mercy of the labels pulling out at the end of the deal length.
